  • Responsible in ensuring that all standard company process and procedures are strictly followed by every employee in the terminal.
  • Accountable in the performance of each terminal in maintaining the quality and quantity of products inside the terminal; Operating and Receiving gains/losses are within acceptable limits; resolves issues on product quality and gains/losses.
  • Ensures that the terminal meets or exceeds the expectations of all customers; fast and accurate order taking, on- time delivery with the right quantity and on-spec product.
  • Control the operation of your unit and team by ensuring Safety System /ERP/ TAS / TMS requirements and all policy and procedures are followed.
  • Stop unsafe behaviors when observed.
  • Regularly inspect the work area for hazards and safety compliance.
  • Recognize safe behavior and promote within your work group.
  • Seek opportunities to improve safety performance.
  • Know, understand and enforce safety laws, standards and practices.
  • Set an example for fellow workers to follow by implementing the Safety System and Denko ERP System in your unit/team.
  • Managing and ensuring the smooth running of the terminal with regard to production operations, shipping, transportation, profitability, EHS, quality, training, and routine maintenance
  • Involved in promoting and managing sales and marketing of tankage, blending, and other value-added activities.
  • Responsible for effectively staffing, leading, developing, managing, and motivating direct reports.
  • Responsible for executing operations consistent with budgetary expectations
  • Accountable for asset management and reliability as well as inventory controls, quality assurance, and reconciliation.
  • Accountable for compliance with local and federal agencies regarding Operating Permits, Operations, Safety programs, Operator training, and Construction Permits.
  • Serve as needed in the Emergency Response System as Incident Commander in the event of an emergency.
  • Administration of policies like Quality, Operational, Safety, and Security policies and procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service to internal and external employees, customers, and stakeholders
  • Responsible for effectively developing and allocating operating budget, routine maintenance, and capital budgets for review and approval as well as tracking implementation and business unit performance
  • Serve as support to Company Leadership as needed to evaluate acquisitions
  • Reviews budgetary controls in coordination with the Finance Executive
  • Responsible for implementing all operational training in conjunction with the General Manager and EHSSQ Manager. This includes all aspects of Terminal operations, safety, fire-fighting, and efficient methods to streamline the Terminal activities.
  • Responsible for planning and managing all terminal preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with Maintenance for all Terminal-related major maintenance activities, preparing operational budgeting and spares including jetty inspections. Also, assists in joint ventures if requested
  • Provides and manages a strong platform to support harmony between different cultures and races on both terminals
  • Represents General Manager / MD in his absence in coordinating with customers, free zone and port authorities, all associated agencies, shipping companies, transport companies, and personnel involved with Terminal operations.

Job Requirements

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.
  • Post graduate degree in strategic, operational management or (MBA) or business administration is preferred.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Manager in a major Liquid Petroleum Terminal
  • Managing terminal engineering projects would be an advantage.
  • 8-10 years of experience related to similar operations, including up to 6-7 years in a leadership role managing or supervising personnel.
  • Bilingual: English and local language
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite applications; Presentation tools and programs
  • Knowledge of the international codes and standards in petroleum terminals (product handling, measurement, storage)
  • Knowledgeable in Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Protection
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Be a confident presenter able to communicate with a large range of audience types
