Summary

The Service Manager oversees workshop and body shop operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and service quality. Responsibilities include workload management, staff supervision, technical support, performance evaluation, and budget planning. This role requires expertise in automotive repair, strong leadership, and a results-driven approach to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve cost efficiency and productivity within the workshops from a managerial standpoint.
  • Determine priorities, allocate work to workshop/body shop staff, and monitor overall processes.
  • Ensure service and repair targets are met and report overall workshop efficiency and performance to top management.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet operational needs, ensuring technicians are trained on new equipment, tools, and service procedures.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper usage of workshop tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to team members while conducting annual performance appraisals.
  • Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions, or changes in plans, and implement necessary actions.
  • Review customer service orders, inspect the quality of repairs, and ensure compliance with workshop policies before vehicle release.
  • Plan and adjust workloads based on staff skills and abilities.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the department, track expenditures, and implement corrective actions.
  • Responsible for additional tasks assigned by top management.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in automotive repair and servicing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Ability to manage workshop operations, budget planning, and performance reporting.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and planning.
  • Fluent in English (4 skills) and effective communication skills.
