A Big Opportunity for ...

To develop Category & Channel Sales Strategy to support long term category growth. Ensuring excellent execution of all activities at POP to increase market share based on shopper and customer requirements. Also, to support sales in their interface with key customers in assigned channels.

General responsibilities

  • Manage and develop channels/category as high performing business partners with growth ambition and positive collaboration for continuous improvement. Plan and execute Channel Sales Plan in accordance with brand plan.
  • Responsible for identifying channel priority for each sub-category & work with brand team to develop and align channel – category plan in line with overall marketing strategies (incorporating understanding on shoppers, category and customer, competition, channel and external environment).
  • Accountable for channel promo evaluation. Responsible for optimal budget utilization based on activities requirement. Ensure all investment is properly reviewed, tracked and documented.
  • Responsible & accountable in developing clear and comprehensive channel activity deck. Effectively communicating these to Sales and Operation team in monthly /quarterly meetings, update monthly sales bulletin as appropriate.
  • Support Head of Sales for developing Sales growth plan for assigned channels & distributors in line with Dumex business growth plan  
  • Closely work with DDM and distributors on Field Sales Execution excellence of Channel Programs/Plan to achieve Sales KPIs. 
  • Work with DDM on bottom up forecast for sellout by SKU, by brand by channel and by key account for reconciliation with internal sellout forecast for short term and mid term
  • Closely monitor Sellout performance, distribution, and PICOS performance by category/channel by regular review on daily, weekly, and quarterly report/dashboard with proposed actions plan if there is any gap with target. 
  • Assist Head of Sales for continuous development of channel strategy/plan to drive maximum sales growth with operations & cost efficiency for business sustainability. 
  • Coordinate with internal/other functions /distributors that are involved in the areas of focus with category & channel management 
  • Closely monitor the market and competitors movement and ability to identify on implications on business for either risk or opportunities for business. Scheduled monthly trade visit to understand the retail environment, shopper trends & behaviour, in-store execution & identify opportunity for improvement in channel. To have a clear understanding of operation & sales team function.

  • Build good engagement with distributors and internal stakeholders for good collaboration. 
  • Self-motivation to meet and exceed goals and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements

  • Ability to understand sales and commercial reports and able to derive information from them that will support tactical and strategic decisions to address market or distributor challenges.
  • Commercial experience in FMCG and track-record on demonstrating commercial acumen are considered a plus
  • Ability to develop programs to improve sales 
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, and Power Point

Education

  • Bachelor Degree. MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Sales/Marketing is preferred.

 

Work experience

  • 7 years of experience in Sales, Category/Channel Management and Trade Marketing
  • Minimum of 5+ years proven experience as a category/channel development manager or trade marketing manager
