KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As the lead Public Relations and External Communications Manager, your key accountabilities and responsibilities will be to enhance Yoma Bank’s reputation with its key external stakeholders, including media and third parties. You will take responsibility in responding to local and international media enquiries and stake holders management. As part of your role, you will research and write press releases, speeches, briefings, presentations, articles, blogs, Q&A’s and other communication materials. You will be the protector of our brand and you will lead on creating a profile for Yoma Bank that increases brand awareness and creates fans.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

So what would you be doing?...

  • Developing, planning and strategizing PR and Communications activity and campaigns that help us reach our commercial and operational objectives
  • Anticipating and identifying issues that may have an impact on Yoma Bank and providing insight, analysis and counsel to leaders, including the executive leadership team
  • Engaging with your colleagues to build and safeguard the reputation of Yoma Bank
  • Promoting Yoma Bank and our expertise – identifying potential stories, news hooks and opportunities for campaigns
  • Running a proactive media relationship programme for key spokespeople with print, online and broadcast media
  • Working closely with PR Agencies and creative/design teams
  • Preparing PR dashboard and analysis on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Maximize budgets and plans for effectiveness and efficiencies through better planning and buying, seeking partner values at onset.
  • Optimal communication effort to drive efficient result

The Ideal Candidate

 

You need to be this kind of person…

  • you will have a minimum of 3-6 years of Public Relations and/or External Communications in a local or international Brand or a PR, Communications or marketing agency experience, a track record of handling multiple projects, and have worked in development of successful PR and Communications Campaigns.
  • Passionate about providing unparalleled levels of service and convenience for customers
  • Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
  • Be passionate about productivity and liberate funds to fuel more initiatives or make initiatives better
  • Challenge the norm, no matter how important they seem – if they do not strategically, economically and scientifically make sense, eliminate them, even if some interest groups put up resistance
  • Given the transformational nature of the opportunity, a can-do approach and strong collaborative skillset are highly required.

  • Naturally, you will hold experience as an External Communications Manager either within agency or financial services
  • You will have a good working knowledge of listing rules and investor relations
  • In order to be fantastic in this role, you will have financial reporting and/or consumer PR experience
  • You’ve got to be comfortable with issues management
  • High energy, maturity, leadership, and holds attention to details with the ability to serve as a unifying force, and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
  • We need you to have an amazing knowledge on social media and media relations
  • Contribute to the building of a high performance team by helping to grow digital marketing expertise of team members.
  • Maintain an open and collaborative team culture. Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all team members, cross-functional teams, third parties, and other departments

Job Requirements

Education & Experiences

Essential

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications is required.
  • Master’s degree in Mass Communications or Marketing is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ as a senior role in digital marketing. Successfully manages projects and campaigns that utilizes Social, Programmatic, SEO/SEM. Successfully managing multiple people, processes and projects in a complex environment is required

Knowledge and Skills

Technical/Functional competencies:

  • Ability to create Holistic PR & Communications Plans
  • Ability to manage Agencies as well as internal team members
  • Ability to communicate the value of a product or service with excellent knowledge of communication, and marketing principles
  • Ability to review, draft and/or editing professional high-quality written content in English and Myanmar
  • In-depth knowledge of various media platform, best practices and media landscape in Myanmar
  • Pro user of MS Excel, Powerpoint and Words.
  • Highly Creative with excellent analytical abilities.
  • Ability to create presentations using PowerPoint, present, evaluate, and transform data and analytics to derive relevant findings- undertake & provide analysis of data.
