PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Operational Set Up Manager to lead the operational readiness of raw materials. This role is critical to ensuring a smooth start-up and long-term success of the plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing operational systems and processes during the project phase and will transition into the Production Manager role upon commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Project Phase

• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Technological Manager to align operational needs with engineering and quality requirements
• Liaises with the supplier of the raw materials equipment as well as give guidance on the civil scope
• Define and implement operational workflows, staffing plans, and production schedules
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of production staff
• Develop SOPs, safety protocols, and maintenance routines
• Ensure readiness of utilities, raw material logistics and handling, and finished goods logistics
• Support commissioning and validation activities

Post-Commissioning Phase

• Take full ownership of plant operations as Production Manager
• Lead daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
• Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization
• Manage production KPIs, reporting, and compliance
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations, preferably in food or agro-processing
• Proven experience in setting up new production lines or facilities
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Experience in raw material milling, such as rice or similar grains
• Prior experience as a manager in a production or operational setting
• Fluent in project management methodologies and tools
• Knowledge of quality systems, safety standards, and lean manufacturing
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
