Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Purchaser (Skincare & Cosmetics) to lead procurement and category development for skincare and beauty products across our wellness and healthcare retail outlets. The ideal candidate will possess strong skincare product knowledge, excellent supplier negotiation skills, and deep awareness of beauty market trends. This role will focus on building strong brand partnerships, optimizing product assortment, and implementing effective pricing and promotional strategies to drive category growth and maintain competitiveness in the beauty and skincare market.

 

Job Descriptions

- Develop and implement category strategies for skincare and cosmetics products to maximize sales and profitability. 

- Plan and manage product assortment, including the introduction of new brands and SKUs. 

- Analyze product performance and sales data to optimize category mix and discontinue underperforming products. 

- Build and maintain strong relationships with skincare brands, distributors, and suppliers. 

- Lead negotiations on pricing, trade discounts, promotional support, and supply agreements. 

- Manage exclusive products, brand partnerships, and supplier collaboration opportunities. 

- Monitor beauty market trends, skincare innovations, and changing consumer preferences. 

- Conduct competitor analysis regarding pricing, product assortment, and promotional activities. 

- Identify new product opportunities based on market demand and emerging skincare trends. 

- Develop competitive pricing strategies for skincare and cosmetic products. 

- Review and approve pricing adjustments and price change proposals within the category. 

- Negotiate supplier-funded promotions, marketing support, and trade agreements. 

- Monitor sales performance, stock availability, and inventory turnover for skincare products. 

- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels. 

- Manage slow-moving or near-expiry products through strategic promotion planning. 

- Review and finalize vendor contracts, commercial terms, and supply agreements. 

- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulatory requirements. 

- Collaborate closely with marketing, retail operations, and warehouse teams. 

- Support marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities for skincare brands.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 

- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, skincare purchasing, or beauty category management. 

- Strong knowledge of skincare ingredients, cosmetic brands, and beauty market trends. 

- Deep understanding of skincare product categories, formulations, and consumer demand. 

- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and brand partnership management. 

- Strong skills in category management and product assortment planning. 

- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor strategies to drive category growth. 

- Expertise in pricing strategy development and promotion planning. 

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail data analysis tools. 

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. 

- Strong analytical thinking with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.

- Travel to suppliers and retail branches as required
