ROLE PURPOSE  

Since SME businesses are backbone of the country’s economy, Yoma Bank prioritizes to offer a number of SME loans product with fast and straightforward financing to support SME business owners.  

Main responsibilities are to determine whether the bank should engage in a lending relationship with prospective clients active in SME sector in Myanmar.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

Working along with branches and Regional Sales Capabilities Mangers, SME underwriting managers’ responsibilities include:  

  • Manage a team of SME credit analysts who will carry out detailed credit analysis on SME lending opportunities  

  • Ensure credit applications, preparing financial data entry for underwriting and analysis are processing and articulating within agreed turnaround time (“TaT”)  

  • Presentation of credit applications at respective Credit Committee, if necessary 

  • Maintaining complete client records including the filing of credit approvals, relevant client correspondence 

  • Monitoring outstanding exposure (portfolio management) and timely report any deviations or trend that could impact in expected results, identify causes and gaps 

  • Provide quantitative support for credit reporting, marketing, lending, and product development as required 

  • Conduct regular coaching & training sessions to the team members to improve on credit assessment  

  • Stakeholder management including internal , external customers, audits and regulators  

  • Perform other credit and risk related tasks as assigned on ad-hoc basis

Job Requirements

  • University degree in accounting / finance / economics or otherwise quantitative field 
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience  
  • Previous experience in Banking and/or MFI environment or is an advantage  
  • Strong analytical skills;  
  • Thorough understanding of financial statements and related accounting policies;  
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills;  
  • Effective business writing and professional communication skills  
  • Able to meet deadlines and be held accountable.  
  • Can communicate to all level of person in and out of organization.  
  • Fluent in English and Burmese both writing and speaking
