A Packed JobNATION Mandalay 2020 Career Fair Brings In Over 3,000 Attendees

Mandalay’s JobNATION, a first of its kind digitally driven career fair, was successfully hosted at Hotel Marvel on the 23rd of February 2020. Over 3,000 professionals searching for roles in many different industries attended the career fair which was organized by JobNet.com.mm, looking to take the next step in propelling their career with strong international and local companies.

JobNATION returned to Mandalay as it has for the past four years, this time with a special feature to introduce called the Digital CV ID; a QR code based technology where each company, each requisition, and each candidate has their own unique image which can be scanned and received by the opposite party. For JobSeekers, they can show their Digital CV ID to any company, and the business will be able to attach a candidate record to any job they are recruiting for (and continually get updates on the candidate as they bolster their skillset). Companies also have their own Digital ID, so JobSeekers can scan it to sign up for updates on new job openings and happenings at organizations they are interested on learning more about. The key is that this one-time transfer of electronic data sets up a lifetime of information sharing; keeping candidate profiles up to date instead of previously where a static paper CV that is next to impossible to index and is a snapshot in time as opposed to a living and breathing document.

An aspiring IT professional who was an attendee to the event shared his experiences about the career fair, “It is easy to apply for jobs using the Digital CV ID today. Previously, we needed a stack of documents for job application, but now we don’t need. As my profession is related IT, I appreciated this kind of career fair applied technology.”

There were 20+ leading local and international companies from different sectors including Ooredoo Myanmar, Colgate-Palmolive [Myanmar] Ltd, Wall Street English, MYCL, Global Technology Group, Hayman Microfinance, Foodpanda, and more, with hundreds of vacancies recruited for at the event. Uniquely, Ooredoo Myanmar searched for talents who would be suitable for the Internship Program of their Mandalay branch, which included walk-in on the spot interviews. Moreover, Mandalay job seekers got free official labour cards at the event due to the generous cooperation of JobNet.com.mm and the Department of Labour in Mandalay Region.

JobNet Myanmar is deeply grateful to the many participating companies, the Department of Labour (Mandalay Region), and especially those who attended to JobNATION Mandalay 2020. Take a look for yourself at the above video to see how fabulous of a time that everyone had pushing the economy of Myanmar and themselves forward. See you again at the upcoming JobNATION Career Fairs for 2020; two JobNATION Yangon Career Fairs in April and September, as well as Myanmar Job Expo in Singapore in June.
