Job Purpose

To manage and oversee goldsmith production operations to ensure high quality, optimal productivity, and cost efficiency in jewellery manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Supervise and control jewellery production processes (Casting, Filing, Stone Setting, Polishing, Finishing)
• Plan and manage Daily / Weekly / Monthly production schedules to meet targets
• Optimize production workflows to improve efficiency

2. Quality Control

• Ensure jewellery quality standards (design accuracy, finishing, weight control) are consistently met
• Minimize defects, rework, and material waste through continuous improvement

3. Team Leadership

• Lead and manage production teams including Goldsmiths, Setters, and Polishers
• Conduct training and skill development programs
• Monitor and evaluate team performance and provide motivation

4. Inventory & Material Control

• Manage and control gold, gemstones, and raw materials
• Ensure proper material usage, loss control, and scrap management

5. Process Improvement

• Implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Introduce new techniques and technologies to enhance production

6. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure workplace safety (fire safety, chemical handling, tools usage)
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards

7. Reporting

• Prepare and submit production, efficiency, and loss reports to management
• Analyze performance based on KPIs and recommend improvements

Job Specification (JS)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Jewellery Design, or a related field
• Minimum (5–8) years of experience in the jewellery manufacturing industry
• Hands-on experience in goldsmith processes (Casting, Setting, Polishing)
• Knowledge of gold handling, weight control, and loss management
• Production planning and scheduling skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
• High integrity and trustworthiness
• Factory / production workshop environment
