Job Purpose

To lead and manage overall jewellery production operations at a strategic level, ensuring excellence in quality, productivity, cost control, and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Production Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies and operational plans for the Goldsmith Production Department
  • Lead production capacity planning and expansion initiatives
  • Ensure alignment between production operations and overall business objectives

2. End-to-End Production Management

  • Oversee all jewellery production processes (Casting, CAD/CAM, Filing, Stone Setting, Polishing, Finishing)
  • Optimize large-scale production operations for maximum efficiency
  • Ensure on-time delivery and achievement of production targets

3. Quality & Brand Standard Control

  • Maintain high-end jewellery quality standards and brand requirements
  • Establish and promote a zero-defect culture
  • Strengthen quality assurance systems and continuous improvement practices

4. Financial & Cost Management

  • Manage and control production budgets
  • Improve gold loss control, reduce wastage, and enhance cost efficiency
  • Drive initiatives to improve profitability

5. People & Organization Management

  • Lead AGM, Managers, and Supervisors to build a strong leadership structure
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and performance management
  • Foster a high-performance organizational culture

6. Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives
  • Introduce new technologies (CAD/CAM, 3D printing, advanced polishing techniques)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement

7. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Strengthen gold handling risk controls, security systems, and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, legal, environmental, and industry standards
  • Maintain audit readiness and strong governance practices

8. Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Design, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers (gold, gemstones)
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management and the Board

Job Requirements

Job Specification (JS)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Jewellery Design, or a related field and MBA (preferred)
  • Minimum (10–15) years of experience in the jewellery manufacturing industry, at least (5+) years in a senior management role
  • Advanced knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Strong financial management and cost control expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of gold loss management and material control
  • Strategic thinking and business planning capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Visionary and strategic leadership mindset
  • High integrity and trustworthiness (critical in gold handling environment)
  • May require extended working hours depending on business needs
  • Factory / production workshop environment
