Evaluate offset data before the start of drillingAnalyze, evaluate & describe formations while drilling, using cuttings, gas, FEMWD (Formation Evaluation While Drilling) and wireline data.Management, Selection on the basis of tender and Supervision of “Formation Evaluation” contractors (Mud Logging Geologists, MWD Logging Engineers, Wireline Logging Engineers, Coring and Well Testing Personnel).All safety aspects for the well and personnel during these evaluation operations.Providing relevant correlation and well data to those contractors during their operations.Checking all reports and log from the evaluation contractors prior to sending them to oil company offices.Compare data gathered during drilling with prediction made at the exploration stage.Advises on drilling hazards and drilling bit optimization.Pore pressure & fracture gradient evaluation.Act as a representative of the PHE (Pacific Hunt Energy) subsurface team.Keeping detailed records, writing reports, completing daily, weekly and post-well reporting logs and sending these to appropriate departments.Generate and distribute detailed reports compiling parameters, observations, and interpretations.Clear communication regularly with Head Quarter office in Yangon. Reporting to Subsurface HQ team in the Netherlands, acting assingle point of contact for geological data acquisition issues in the field.Comparing data gathered during drilling with predictions made at the planning stage.Advising on drilling hazards and drilling bit optimization.Supervise the drilling fluid system and drilling problems (lost circulation, kicks, ect.)Abnormal Pressure Surveillance/ Ensure all abnormal (pressure parameters are monitored, captured on a pressure evaluation log, and reviewed with Company Operations Geologist and Drilling Supervisors as required)Taking full responsibility for making decisions about suspending or continuing drilling.Advising operations personnel on-site and in the operations officeActing, in effect, as the representative of the onshore oil company geology teamSupervising mudlogging, MWD, LWD, wireline services and coring operation personnel and monitoring quality control in relation to these services.Pre-drill planning/ Point of contact for third party geological services vendors.Monitor and coordinate wellsite geologic data acquisition and analysis activities.Participate in regular teleconferences and meetings.Review/verify invoices for geological services. Well Completion Report Compilation and Distribution.Post-drill responsibilities include coordinating shipments of samples, logs, and reports as well as completing special/ad-hoc projects.
Operations/Well site Geologist with 10+ years experience with a degree in a relevant discipline.A proven track record in oil & gas exploration.Demonstrable experience in well site geology and operations geology within Chindwin Basin or Northern Part of Myanmar.Extensive experience with both carbonate and clastic sequences and abnormal pressure formations.Good understanding of paleontology, reservoir geology, prospect evaluation and prospect maturation.Willingness and ability to work against tight deadlines.Well-developed communication and team working skills. The candidate must have the ability to interact constructively and seamlessly with supervisors, managers, geologists, geophysicists, and a variety of engineers.Ability to develop and maintain relationships based on mutual respect.A willingness to accept personal responsibility for projects and recommendations, and a willingness to work through and with others in the team.
