Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our core enterprise environments. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in Active Directory, MECM (SCCM), and VMware vSphere, capable of ensuring high availability, security, and seamless operations across our physical and virtual estates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Active Directory (AD) Administration

• Manage and maintain multi-site AD DS, including Group Policy (GPO) design, DNS, and DHCP.

• Oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM), ensuring proper OU structures and security group hygiene.

• Perform regular health checks, forest/domain functional upgrades, and AD backup/recovery procedures.

• Monitor security logs and implement hardening measures (e.g., Tiered Administration models).

2. SCCM / MECM Administration & Operations

• Manage the full lifecycle of Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), including site server health and client health.

• Patch Management: Design and execute automated patching schedules for workstations and servers (ADR).

• Application Packaging: Create, test, and deploy software packages and task sequences for OS Deployment (OSD).

• Generate compliance reports and troubleshoot deployment failures at scale.

3. VMware Virtualization Support

• Administer and scale the VMware vSphere environment (ESXi and vCenter).

• Manage compute resources, storage clusters (vSAN/NFS), and virtual networking (vSwitch/NSX).

• Optimize VM performance and perform migrations (vMotion/Storage vMotion).

• Ensure disaster recovery readiness using tools like Site Recovery Manager (SRM) or Veeam.

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration/Engineering within an enterprise environment.

• Deep understanding of Kerberos, LDAP, FSMO roles, and PowerShell scripting for AD automation.

• Proficiency in SQL queries for reporting and extensive experience with PXE boot and OSD troubleshooting.

• VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or equivalent experience managing HA/DRS clusters.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN tagging, and load balancing.

• Good attitude with the ability to lead projects from design to completion.

• Strong root-cause analysis skills for complex infrastructure outages.

• Ability to translate technical jargon into clear documentation for the wider IT team.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV).

• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
